Hi ,
What a weird and unpredictable summer it has already been so far...are you finding that, too?
Crazy wildfire smoke keeping us indoors, my ongoing childcare woes, clients have been coming and going, and rest has been more illusive than usual.
And yet, we're harvesting a lovely crop of strawberries I managed to hide from the chipmunks, the peonies smell
divine, we got our storage room cleaned out, and (fingers crossed) I'm finally going camping for the first, and maybe only, time this summer.
Despite the ups and downs, I carved out the time to write to you today. Writing articles and emails would be the easiest thing to drop when things get chaotic. It's a full morning every
week that I technically have no calls scheduled and no official deadlines. But I know, deep down, that this is the most important part of my business. It may take me longer than a week sometimes to get something to send you (like this one did), and I may take some holidays here and there, but most Mondays I'm back at my keyboard, writing to you.
What is this non-negotiable in your business? Do you have one, or are you running around with your hair on fire every day? If it's the latter, today's article (with a video!) is for you.
Setting You and Your Virtual Assistant Up for Success
The business owners I work with tend to have endless to-do lists and not enough time to get stuff done, so a natural next step for many of them is to hire help. Often that help comes in the form of an assistant, and these days the assistant typically works online. However, it doesn’t always go as smoothly
as you think it will because there are a few mistakes that can really impact how well you might work with your VA.
I interviewed Jillian Wasylyk, a phenomenal VA (and my sister) to get the inside scoop on what you can do to set yourself and your VA up for success. We covered what you need to do before you hire, how to train your VA, tips for success, and some
easily avoidable mistakes many business owners make.
Watch the full video here (33 mins) and see the takeaways below.
(I'm working on the subtitles, so they're still a little wild!)
