Hi ,
I know school starts at a different time everywhere, but for me September has always been the month of new beginnings. Today I dropped my daughter off for her first day at her real school, and the energy was just what you'd expect: nerves and excitement, cool air, and fresh start.
This summer lots of aspects of my business paused (like writing these emails to you, writing articles, and posting online), but other parts blossomed with new ideas and fresh excitement.
The most relevant to share with you is I
earned accreditation with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). In the past 11+ years I never needed an accreditation, but I accepted a contract for a company that required it so I went through the process. I'm not sure how I feel about the various governing bodies for coaches, but as the industry goes even more Wild West, I'm proud to say I abide by ethical standards and deliver high-quality coaching that is now recognized by the EMCC. The process was intense, and there are many
new practices I need to put into place to keep my accreditation, but I'm excited to raise the bar for myself and my clients.
Long-time readers of this newsletter also know I've been very stubborn when it comes to marketing, and I only want to do marketing that feels ethical and aligned to my beliefs. Because of that my business growth has been slow as I
find my way, even after all these years, and experiment along the way. All that to say, I've decided my next business experiment will be with SEO. I'm very excited, even though I'm not yet sure the impact of AI on this type of marketing. I'm hopeful that it means the writing I put so much thought into will become more widespread in the world. Fingers crossed!
You can expect a renewed stream of helpful articles over the next few months, and some announcements of cool things happening in The Happy Squirrel Collective. I hope you'll stick around with me!
How did you fare this summer? I'd love to hear how it went, and what your intentions for the fall are :)
You've got this,
