Hi ,
It's the last email of the year, and I've saved the best for you :)
At least, it's my favourite...
Reflection, recalibration, and planning for the next year!
I think it's my favourite for a few reasons:
- It's a quiet moment that's somewhat rare in my
house!
- I've made a ritual out of it
- My natural strength is "intellection" which means I love time alone for introspection and to think
All that to say, it's totally okay if this isn't your favourite time of year, or if you really don't even want to spend time reflecting or planning. Do what works for you!
Here's my reflection ritual:
On New Year's Day I spend at least a few hours alone, with a candle and some fancy pens, reflecting on my year. Not my business, though that's a small part of it, but more of my entire experience of the
year. Business planning comes later, usually at the beginning of January for me, but I like to look at the bigger picture first.
This year I'm adding two new questions to my reflection that I've never used before:
- What have I learned about myself this year?
- How have my perceptions of the world changed?
(Throughout the year I make note of great questions, and those two made the cut this
year.)
You'll see in that post I talk about my year-end business planning process with Laura Posey and Plan to Win, so make sure to check that out, too. We're doing our
last webinars this week if you're interested in joining us. (not an affiliate link, but I co-facilitate them so make sure to say hi if you come!)
With that, wishing you all a very happy holiday. I hope you're able to spend some quality time with family and friends, get outside in
nature, and step away from work to reset. I know I will be!
We'll see you back here in January.
Best wishes,
Stephanie Wasylyk
